Good morning to you

Good morning to you

When Hats asked me to write this release post, I panicked a little. English is not my first language and I have been feeling down lately, which doesn’t help with inspiration. I have gotten better over the years but a part of me still believes that I don’t deserve to be successful and happy. Dealing with these feelings has been harder than usual these last few months, which is why I have been inactive for some time. It is part of the reason why you didn’t get a release earlier. Everything is not bleak though. Summer has finally arrived, after an unusually long winter. These are the months that I love the most. At this time of year, the flowers of the linden tree next to my house get golden when the sun sets. It never fails to lift my mood. Today, fittingly, I bring you some of my favorite projects. I hope you will enjoy these chapters as much as I did.

777-Triple Seven- Phase 3: Party juseyo!

777-Triple Seven- Phase 3: Party juseyo!

Hello, I’m Hatsumi, better known as Hats/Hatsu/Mimi and Stiletto Heels’ machismo Admin slash Head Translator. In reality, I’m just an oddball who went to sleep with headphones and a pair of dusty New Balance sneakers on. If it wasn’t for that darn water bug that went stealth ninja mode in my bedroom!

Water bugs occasionally sneak into our house during the summer. One was crawling its way toward my bed. My ears still twitch from remembering the sound of it rustling over the loose mail that was scattered on the carpet. *rubs ears* When I turned on the lamp, it disappeared. When I turned it off, it creeped back. By the fourth time, to my horror, it was gone without a trace. I glanced at my alarm clock – 4 AM! My eyes were like washed up sandbags. I was drooping over the side of the bed from exhaustion. So as a precaution I shimmied my feet into my sneakers and put my headphones on to cover my ears and went to sleep. I figured it couldn’t burrow its way into my ears if I didn’t wake up, but if I did, I’d at least have my shoes on to stomp the hell out of it.

Yep, that’s me. And I’m supposed to be in charge of this team? Hah. More like everyone ELSE here is helping making me look like I’m doing a decent job. Thanks, Team.

WE BACK IN DA HOUSE!

WE BACK IN DA HOUSE!

Yep, me and my Heels Crew, we back in the game! (‘∀`)ゝ”

For the past several months, we’ve been on a wicked dry spell. I mean, REALLY wicked. Yeah, we threw out some onesies and twosies here and there, but tonight? Tonight, we gonna make you bounce!

But before we release, let me just take a moment to post an open letter to staff from our reader Julia.

Hey guys, I’m just writing to tell you something you probably already know: you’re awesome.
I’m following you for “Principal”, and always find it amazing how neat your work is.
What I love the most is that insted of just translating, you make an actual adaptation to your language. It’s so perfect it feels like the original language of the manga was English.
It’s freaking fascinating! You are the only scans group who does that.
And the editing and typesetting are flawless.
You all do an incredible job, and for free!
Thank you so much for what you do, every single chapter is worth the wait.
Please never abandon your fans! 😀

On behalf of the Heels Crew, as well as our head staff members – Francophone Rebel Minelauva and Desert Junkie Lilanar – let me just say that we have no intentions whatsoever of calling it quits. The team’s still got plenty of steam left, and even pulled two new editors on board the other week, Jyuu Viole Grace and Natsu. Of course, the words pinned above could also be said about any of our projects. These people work so hard, it makes me tear up just looking at these releases. There’s just one eensy-weensy thing left I have to say to you Julia. Please don’t call yourself our “fan.” You’ll make us blush! |_-。)

Feeling a little short?

Feeling a little short?

Apologies in advance. This release post is going to be pretty short. So short, Chiaki from AAA gets to be my “Feeling Short” mascot. Adorably tiny, isn’t she? Same goes for these crazy but obviously not very many releases. I’m really surprised at how much of a good time I had reading each chapter though. No, I’m not just saying that cause they’re Heels’ projects and I think we have a lot less duds than other groups. >.> <.< I did have a blast though and you will too. This includes Anata no Koto wa Sorehodo in case all you Koki haters are wondering.

Chotto darui… (A Little Tired…)

Chotto darui… (A Little Tired…)

When I heard that El Niño with its destructive rain was coming, and a smattering of rain leaking from the sky the week following showed significant promise, I bought a pair of rain boots from Nordstrom. Four days later they arrived at my office, and after I finished unwrapping the soft layer of translucent white tissue that encased them with the efficiency of a master sushi chef filleting a Spanish mackerel, I threw my arms up in the air and shouted, “Yahoo!” Rain boots! For rain!

I had almost forgotten what rain was until the eager meteorologists on NPR dutifully came on the air to remind forgetful cat ladies such as me. Can you imagine what I could do with this pair of rain boots? I told myself.
